ocial Innovation are all the processes, programs and initiatives that allow a profound change in the operation of the system, generating positive
transformations and resilient communities.
As highlighted by the World Economic Forum (WEF), reducing inequality and accelerating real, mean- ingful and widespread inclusive growth are the most urgent challenges of our age. Social Innovation is an in- tersectoral collaboration, spaces where private sector, academia, public and other groups, work e"ectively and eðciently, seeking an impact and social transfor-
mation.
Contrary to what is first thought, this action rep-
resents much more, changes are needed at the indi- vidual, organizational and social level, as well as legal, cultural, economic, and political changes to help soci- ety and the planet prosper.
!is is an essential process at a time when com- munities need new approaches and pathways to deal with social and environmental problems, that creates value for society and satisfies needs, where opportu- nities are seized and problems are solved through a systemic impact.
It means being more strategic, more ambitious, and more collaborative in how access and oppor- tunities can be provided to low-income people, to participate in the local, regional and why not, global
58 |economy.
